Google
announced in February that is it looking to partner with a handful of US towns and cities to test a high-speed broadband network much faster than current offerings. This is a big opportunity for communities in that it could have big impacts for all walks of life -- public, private, business, social, educational... the possibilities are endless.
Quincy wants to be one of those communities.
We're elbows-deep in a 3-week effort to make Quincy an attractive candidate to the folks at Google. Our public/private partnership is made up of stakeholders from all aspects of our community, and on March 26th our application will include the following elements:
- our formal online application
- a compelling online video
- a promotional kit mailed to Google
- some solid PR
